The primary gameplay in Crypto Unicorns is our battle, breed, and collect Land Game. Players use Land and Unicorn NFTs that lock into the game and upgrade them over time as players progress.
Land is the backbone of our community-owned economy, where Unicorns get to work in Breeding, Questing, Gathering, Crafting, and Farming. Players can also work together in Tribes to forge Gems and permanently improve their Unicorns. On weekends players can also compete in Jousting for big-time rewards, like $CU and $XAI tokens!
NOTE: Thanks to our partnership with Xai, gas fees related to Crypto Unicorns blockchain transactions will be reimbursed to players!
A player’s farm is their “home on the range” within the Unicorn Multiverse. It’s a plot of land where players can build various productive buildings including Stables, Nursery, Workshop, Gathering Cart, Questboard, and Farm Plots. Unicorns are extremely helpful creatures (so long as you ask nicely!) and love to help around the farm. Players benefit from upgrading their land which increases its productive output. Below are the types of Lands and Unicorn Classes that players can use in the land gameplay.
Note: Unicorns work more efficiently if their class matches the land they work on. Variety will be helpful as you expand your farm—keep an eye out while shopping!
Tribes are Crypto Unicorns’ first-ever in-game social feature where players can collaborate to progress both as a group and as an individual, and in the future compete with other Tribes. By joining a Tribe, players can work together to upgrade Tribe buildings, craft Gems to enhance Unicorn stats over time, and compete with other Tribes in the Tribe's leaderboards.
Gems are the first type of vertical progression for Unicorns, allowing players to improve their on-chain stats.
Jousting is where players can send their Unicorns to compete in tournaments and win rewards.
Unicorns compete in three rounds of "head-on" matches and deliver damage to each other based on a combination of factors, including individual Unicorn stats, Unicorn stance, Unicorn class, and luck.
Unicorns with the highest total stats will tend to perform better in Jousts! There is also a chance for knock-outs to happen, where one Unicorn gets a big hit and wins the match on the spot.
Jousting is only available on the weekends from Fridays 00:00 UTC to Sundays 00:00 UTC.
Shadowcorns are the evil counterparts to the happy-go-lucky Unicorns. Since the days of the great Cataclysm, the Shadowcorns have been bound to the Dark Forest and existed mostly in the shadows.
Unlike the Unicorns that are breeding to grow their population, the Shadowcorns are sterile and unable to procreate. There are only 3,000 of them in existence; however, they are known for sending disposable Minions to do their bidding...
Shadowcorns are constantly disrupting the farming efforts of Unicorns, with successful attacks stealing resources from a given harvest. These resources are passed back to Shadowcorn holders in the form of passive rewards!
