Step 2: Get Currency on Arbitrum & Xai

Now that your wallet is setup on Arbitrum One and Xai, you’ll either need to buy cryptocurrency directly on Arbitrum One or bridge cryptocurrency you currently own from Ethereum Mainnet.

If you are buying cryptocurrency tokens through an exchange, pay careful attention to which chain is storing your assets. Tokens like $ETH (gas that powers Arbitrum) and $XAI (gas that powers XAI) can be bridged across different blockchains.

Arbitrum and XAI provide great FAQs on how to use their bridge and move tokens between blockchains:

Bridging up to Arbitrum or Xai is a near instant; however, like most optimistic roll-up blockchains, bridging down from Xai to Arbitrum One or from Arbitrum One to Ethereum Mainnet requires 7 days. Third-party bridges can be used to bridge down instantly.

Using the Bridge

You can use the official bridge from Arbitrum to move tokens between Ethereum Mainnet, Arbitrum One, and Xai.

Although $ETH can be bridged directly from Ethereum Mainnet to Arbitrum One, only $wETH (wrapped Eth) can be bridged from Arbitrum One to Xai.

When bridging tokens, like $wETH or $CU, from Arbitrum One to Xai you will need a little of $XAI on Arbitrum One that will be bridged along to allow you to claim your tokens on Xai.

$ETH is used for gas fees on Arbitrum One and $XAI is used for gas fees on Xai.

Bridging $CU Tokens

$CU might not show up through name search when using the Arbitrum bridge; however, it can still be bridged by entering the $CU contract address:

  • 0x89c49a3fa372920ac23ce757a029e6936c0b8e02

Important Token Addresses on XAI:

  • XAI: 0x4Cb9a7AE498CEDcBb5EAe9f25736aE7d428C9D66

  • wCU: 0x89C49A3fA372920aC23ce757A029e6936c0b8e02

  • UNIM: 0x64060aB139Feaae7f06Ca4E63189D86aDEb51691

  • wETH: 0xbee82cfdaff4a6aa4e4793cb81eb1c2e79ac463c

QUICK TIP:

  • When swapping tokens on Camelot Dex, remember to pay attention to which blockchain you're currently viewing through MetaMask.

  • Gas used for in-game transactions related to CU will be reimbursed to players; however, a little bit of $XAI is required to get started!
