The Unicorn Multiverse was once a place of great harmony. Unicorns young and old lived in peace, working their farms and building tribal bonds. Then one day it all came to a halt! Suddenly the Unicorns were frozen in time!
The corrupted Shadowcorns could be to blame. Rumors have spread among the Dark Forest that an ancient portal has been awakened that might be disrupting the vary fabric of time itself.
Crypto Unicorns began as a collection of 10,000 NFTs in the form of eggs that could be hatched into the first generation of Unicorns on the Polygon blockchain. Players use their Unicorns to breed future generations, collect the cutest ones, and access farming gameplay to acquire new resources.
The Crypto Unicorns ecosystem is supported by two ERC-20 cryptocurrency tokens called Crypto Unicorns Token ($CU) and Unicorn Milk ($UNIM). The Crypto Unicorns Token is the governance token for the Unicorn DAO, which allows holder tokens the ability to make some decisions about the gameplay and ecosystem. Unicorn Milk is a game token that is primarily used for breeding, hatching, and evolving new Unicorns.
The primary gameplay in Crypto Unicorns is centered around blockchain-based farms where players breed, collect, and battle with their Unicorns. Players purchase NFTs of digital land plots and assemble them to create their own unique kingdom inside the game. They can then use their Unicorns to enhance the efficiency of their farm by having them gather, craft, harvest, and go on quests.
Players can also breed their Unicorns in a Nursery, giving our players the sole power to expand the population. Unicorns and Land can only be purchased on our native marketplace, when other players choose to list them for sale.
Our economy is truly in the hands of the players! There are also evil Shadowcorns, that have a fixed supply, that battle Unicorns for limited in-game resources.
On June 26th, 2024 Crypto Unicorns completed a full migration to the Xai blockchain, an Layer-3 scaling solution in the Arbitrum Orbit ecosystem.
As game developers, we are excited to move away from the extractive nature of Free-2-Play to foster and nurture community-run game economies. Crypto Unicorns is our first digital nation and we are extremely excited to build it in tandem with our player community!
We see Crypto Unicorns as a blank slate IP inspired by some of our favorite brands of all time including Super Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda. We sincerely hope the global community will fall in love with these Unicorns as much as we have and believe that by working together we can build a truly generational IP. 🦄
